Tri-County Camera Club is one of the most active camera clubs in northern New Jersey. Members join to learn more about taking good photographs, to see the work of top photographers in the area and to share their own photographic ideas with others. If requested, beginners are assigned a mentor from a membership list that comprises some of New Jersey's best photographers.

The Club has been home to outstanding photography for over 60 years, and has been holding its meetings in Nutley, New Jersey since 1963. Meetings are held in the Nutley High School, 300 Franklin Ave. Nutley, New Jersey 07110 (see Contact Us for directions), usually the first three Tuesdays of the month from September through May (see the Club Calendar for exact dates and subjects). Doors open at 7:30 pm, and meetings get underway by 8:00 pm.

Whether a beginner or an experienced photographer, Tri-County members compete with others at the same skill level. Generally, everyone first competes in a beginners division, then moves up to an intermediate level and finally to the salon level.

Tri-County Camera Club is a member of New Jersey Federation of Camera Clubs (NJFCC) and the Photographic Society of America (PSA). As a club, we have successfully participated in competitions held within both organizations and received not only club recognition, but also individual ribbons, medals and trophies.

Our primary goal is the advancement of photography. Members generate a continuous exchange of ideas, as they share their experiences and offer technical advice. Outside experts are also brought in to offer workshops and demonstrations. Additional experience is gained through higher-level competitions of the PSA and NJFCC as well as inter-club competitions with other local camera clubs.

The main competitions each month are in color slides which includes both film and digital images. Film and digital slides compete side by side for the same awards in Pictorial and Nature subjects. Also featured throughout the club year are competitions for black & white or color prints, contemporary (also known as creative) slides, assigned subjects that vary each year, programs or workshops and much more.

Please feel free to drop by any of our meetings and see if you'd like to join us!
