Tri County Camera Club Photo Competitions
Our photo competitions give you the opportunity to compete against other photographers of your same skill level in front of an objective 3rd party judge. Competitions are friendly and are a great way to get feedback on your images and help you grow as a photographer. We have competitions in a variety of categories at the Beginner (B Group), Advanced (A Group) and Salon Group.
Competitions are held in digital and print formats. For digital competitions, your images will be uploaded via the internet into our competition management software. This process is very simple and helps the competitions run very smoothly. Once you have become a member you will be given access to the online software for uploading your images.
Competition Categories
Nature (Nature images without the hand of man visible)
Pictorial (any subject)
Creative (a distortion of reality by any means)
Prints (large format and small format, any subject)
Weekly And Annual
Members may submit up to four (4) images for any given competition. Images are assigned a "Top Award" for the best images and "Merit" awards for next best images. At the end of the year an annual competition is held in each category. Any image that received a Top or Merit award during the year is automatically entered into the annual competition. Winning images may not be submitted for future club competitions but can certainly be submitted to outside competitions. Non winning images may be re-entered for future competitions.
Competition Levels
There are three competition levels to recognize the variety of skill levels of our club members.
Beginner Group (B Group)
Advanced Group (A Group)
Salon Group ( These folks are really good)
Members will advance from one level to the next by accumulating "points". Essentially each time you have an image that is either a Top Award or Merit Award you earn points. Once you have accumulated a pre-determined number of points you can move up (from B to A, from A to Salon)
